Some types of missing data will trigger a fault indication in the form of a red exclamation mark for the device in question. If the only missing data is battery level, however, this fault indication does not appear.

As "no data" for battery level most often seems to indicate a dead battery and thus a non-operational device (at least in my experience), I think this should definitely qualify for a fault indication.
