Espen Håland: Awesome. Any idea how long it'll be before it's in place?
Anders Bækkeli Lien
Mikkel Aronsen: Aha 😑 Hope they go for it 😃
Mikkel Aronsen
Anders Bækkeli Lien: This is just them considering it. If it changes to Planned then your question becomes more relevant.
Yes I really hope they do. There are a large number of users asking for this.

Would not reccomend using ARP/IP lists, would rather have using location service or BLE.

Jone Lilleby: I think that to make geofencing fast/reliable you need multiple technologies. ARP/IP/MAC-Adresses for inside home detection + Bluetooth low energy tags + phone gps location services for when the phone is outside the home and for longer distance radius detection. All must be individual technology to activate, but function together as one under a geofencing option.

Agree.. list arp/mac address-table and give possibility to add device(s) to monitor whos home.. would be an excellent addition

A possible solution is to add and monitor IP addresses of the phones connected to wifi, like the homey smart presence app

It would make the experience for the end user much more unified and would not be reliable of third party apps and services that can have delays or disruption of service. There is also alot of useful ways to integrate geofencing into automations.
Would also be nice with a visual presentation of the people within the geofence area with profile like pictures and the firstname of users.

Would be great to skip ifttt and life360 for this!
